British Standards introduced BS5852 Pt2 along with ‘Ignition Sources’, numbered from 0 through to 7, the ignition sources made from wood are:
Ignition Source 4
Known as ‘Crib 4’, this is half the size of a Crib 5
Ignition Source 5
Known as ‘Crib 5’ This is the most commonly used crib
Ignition Source 6
Known as ‘Crib 6’, a much chunkier crib
Ignition Source 7
Known as ‘Crib 7’, quite a large crib, twice the size of the crib 6
